Give Suggestion
Hai anak-anak kelas 8, bagaimana kabar kalian? Semoga selalu sehat dan semakin semangat dalam belajar walaupun dari rumah.. Sekarang kita akan memepelajari materi bahasa Inggris pada Bab 3 yaitu tema We know what to do dengan sub tema to give suggestion and to state rules and obligations. Dalam kesempatan kali ini akan di sajikan materi to give suggestion .
Suggestions dapat digunakan dalam bentuk saran, solusi, rencana dan ide. Misalnya teman kalian sedang dalam masalah tidak bisa mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris maka kalian dapat menyarankannya untuk belajar bersama atau mengikuti kursus bahasa Inggris. Dibawah ini beberapa contoh saran yang di berikan guru dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris:

•We could …………… (Kita bisa ……………….)
•What about ……………….. (Bagaimana dengan …….)
•How about ………………… (Bagaimana kalau ……………..)
•I suggest that ………………….. (Saya menyarankan bahwa ….)
•You might want to change ……… ( Anda mungkin ingin mengubahnya …)

•I don’t think ……………… (Saya tidak berpikir …….)
Example of using Suggestions in sentences (contoh penggunaan saran dalam kalimat)
•Why don’t yo do your homework before going out? (Mengapa tidak mengerjakan PR sebelum pergi?)
•Let's go the library. (ayo ke perpustakaan)
•We could eat at home today. (Lita dapat makan di rumah hari ni)
•What about eating at new place ?. (Bagaimana tentang makan di tempat yang baru)
•I think you should go and meet her. (saya pikir kamu harus pergi dan bertemu dengan dia)
Selain beberapa ungkapan dalam memberikan saran atau suggestions, akan di pelajari tanggapan atau respond dalam memberikan sebuah saran karena kemungkinan orang tersebut menolak atau menerima saran.
Agreeing Respond Suggestions (ekspresi untuk menyetujui saran):
-Yes, it’s a great idea. (ya ini ide bagus )
-I agree with you. (saya setuju dengan mu)
-That sounds great. (kedengarannya ide bagus)
-Yes, let’s do that/it. (ya, ayo kita lakukan)
-I think so. (saya sependapat)
-OK! (ok!)
-That’s right. (ya itu benar)
Declining Respond Suggestions (ekspresi untuk menolak saran):
-No, I don’t think so. (Tidak, saya tidak sependapat tentang itu)
-I disagree with you. (Saya tidak setuju dengan mu)
-That’s not a good idea. (Itu bukan ide yang baik)
-I understand your point, but I think… (Saya mengerti pendapatmu, tapi menurutku……)
• Contoh Dialog Suggestion:
Yanuar : San, Why don’t you join us to do Math homework?
Santi : Sorry Yan, I have a tootache.
Yanuar : Really? You should go to destist, san.
Santi : I am afraid
Yanuar : It will be better that you feel it for days and weeks.
Santi : I’ll try. I hope it won’t hurt a lot. Thanks Yan.
Yanuar : You’re welcome. I hope you will get better soon.
